Overview of case study
When a structural crack forced 60 residents out with no warning, PAP had them safely rehoused within 5 working days.
The situation
A residential building in Stratford was evacuated after a structural crack was discovered in one of its main walls. Around 60 residents needed emergency accommodation, with no notice period and no time to plan around individual circumstances such as schools, jobs or medical care.
What PAP did
We moved residents into hotel accommodation within days of the call, giving the building’s managers breathing room while we sourced longer term housing. Within 5 working days, all 60 residents were relocated into accommodation right across the road from their original building, keeping them close to their schools, doctors and workplaces throughout.
The result
Most residents remain in that accommodation over a year on. The relocation was handled without disruption to residents’ daily lives, and the process left all parties satisfied with how it was managed.
